Below are some before photos of the S. Main house I took today. I’m trying not to get too far ahead of myself until we actually close and have the keys, but fifteen minutes of time snapping photos isn’t much of a time investment, plus it’s already helping with potential rehab ideas. In the future, I need to remember to get tons of pictures of properties I might be interested in, as all I could take today were of the exterior, through windows, etc.

Front of the house. It’s got some nice trees but not much in the way of landscaping or curb appeal.

The plan is to put natural stone down on the sidwalk, and stone or slate on the front porch. Depending on what I can find at the Habitat for Humanity Restore, I’d like to replace the wrought iron on either side of the porch with some simple wooden columns.

Metal handrail is going and steps and porch to be covered in tile or stone.

This is the L-shaped dining room and living room, with the kitchen to the left.

A better shot of the built ins, and more of the living room.

The living room, with the front door just off to the right out the picture. Lots of windows and the hardwood floors are in good shape.

Not the best shot of the master bedroom, as this is from a window just outside the dining room.

This is one of the two back bedrooms, and not a great shot. The carpet needs to go and I’ll probably refinish the floors back here to match the hardwood floors in the front of the house. I ddn’t notice before but there’s crown moulding in the back bedrooms but not in the front of the house or the master.

Back of the house, with its ghetto timber landscaping.

better shot of the back of the house. From poking around the past property records, it looks like they tore down a wooden carport/garage that used to be back here, as there’s a driveway and some concrete and blocks in the ground, but nothing else.

Side of the house.

Driveway in back. I’ll probably put a steel carport here and add a stone patio area.
