Where are All the Good House Flipping Blogs?
February 14, 2007 |
I’ve spent an hour or two this morning in the largely depressing activity of hunting around on the Internet for some good house flipping blogs and other resources to add to a link section here. Unfortunately, not a lot of results to show for that search.
I’m sure I’ll uncover some good sites over time but so far all I can find are a few blogs and sites with a bad case of guru-itis, talking more about what seminar they just got back from and what $500 CD course they just ordered, or about the “team” they’re building, instead of any actual details of house flipping.
Not surprisingly, there’s also a fair amount of talk from those same sources about maxed out credit cards, elaborate shuffling of debt, and other exotic and/or esoteric financial wheelings and dealings, all based on the wisdom from this investment guru or that investment guru.
Surely, somewhere out there are people that simply buy houses for less than market value, make judicious repairs designed to maximize the re-sale value, then re-sell the property, for a profit? Right?

I went on a crazy streak where I was dvr’ing every Flip This House show and watching them non stop. Thankfully, I tired of watching them, but the idea of flipping houses still interests me. I’ll keep an eye on this blog…good luck…
Good luck with your project. I came across your website during a search for cheap carpet sources. I’m also in the process of my first flip (contract accepted 3 days ago), and am excited about the prospect. I also contracted my first rental property just a week prior, so I’m up to my ears in paperwork. The closings are two weeks apart, not to mention 800 miles apart (PA & SC, respectively). Anyhow, good luck to us both, I suppose.
