It sort of feels like I’m spinning my wheels a bit, midway through an entire week off from the day job, but I’ve knocked out a lot of stuff this week. It’s also a bit deceptive as all my work so far at 1002. S. Main has been of the tearing down variety, so on the surface it’s anti-progress, and generating a lot of contractor bags stuffed with trash that’ll also need to be dealt with at some point.

Tomorrow I’m going to have to shift to the Austin house for the foreseeable future, as I’d like to be completely done with all the exterior work by this Sunday. That’s probably pushing it a bit, but we shall see. There’s not a ton of interior work to do, and most of it will be hired out, as far as replacing the kitchen countertops, new carpet, etc.

I wouldn’t recommend trying to juggle this much stuff, though, as it’s wearing me down a bit. I’m cool when I just focus on whatever it is I’m working on, but it’s a bit overwhelming when I step back and start thinking about the total list of things that need doing in the next month or so. It doesn’t help that our primary home is a fixer-upper as well, so even when I come home at the end of the day I can’t escape all sorts of visual evidence of things that need doing.

On top of all that, one of my former web development clients (I do assorted freelance web development/search engine optimization work on the side) suddenly re-surfaced, flush with money, and want me to tackle a couple of new largish projects for them.  I don’t really feel like I can pass up the extra cash, what with all the money flying out recently to buy and fix up houses, but the timing could definitely be better, as far as my plate already being pretty dang full.
