Reaching that blurry stage after pretty much non-stop action for the last few weeks where I’m not sure what day it is, what month it is, or what…well, I do know what year it is.

Hauling off the last of the stuff from the Austin house today, which is done and good to go. Feels nice to type that finally. Met with our realtor last week and she thought the house looked great, had no issues or suggestions at all, and we were both on the same page as what we’d likely get for it. Likely going to list it at $146,500, in the interest of moving it fairly quickly. We’re not going to make a ton of money on the house, but we should clear $25,000-$30,000 in net profit when it’s all said and done, which isn’t too bad for a house we bought in late 2003.

As far as using a realtor, yeah, I know, likely leaving some money on the table,  but I’m just too busy right now to tackle any variety of FSBO, and our Austin realtor has been in the business for a zillion years and already has two potential buyers she’s working with lined up. The long term plan is definitely to get up to speed as far as cutting realtors entirely out of the equation moving forward, but there’s only so much I can tackle at the moment.

Currently busting my butt at the Main St. house trying to get all of the interior painted, so I can get the laminate and carpet installed. Other than painting kitchen cabinets and installing a new medicine cabinet in the bathroom, that’ll pretty much be it for the interior work I plan on doing. Much to do on the exterior, though, as far as installing the slate and patio stone in the front and back, painting window trim, replacing some missing wooden window screens, etc.

I was hoping to be done and have it listed by June 15th, but that’s looking a bit iffy. My wife has been lobbying for us to take a mini-trip somewhere for Memorial Day weekend, so I’ll likely lose that entire weekend as far as getting work done. The must-get-work-done-sell-houses-buy-more-houses side of me doesn’t like that plan much, but it’d definitely be nice to kick back for a weekend. I honestly can’t remember the last weekend day that I did absolutely nothing and just relaxed, which (while industrious) probably isn’t the best thing in the world.
