Gourmet Kitchens and More

October 2, 2007 |

The following is a sponsored review from EW Kitchens

You can’t shake a stick at a Flip This/That House show on television without hearing someone talk about kitchens and bathrooms selling houses. Which is kind of annoying to hear time and time again, but there’s a lot of truth to it, especially in older homes when utility was the primary driver when building kitchens and baths, with luxury a distant second.

House #2 is going to need a complete kitchen remodel, a new full bath addition, and a complete remodel of the existing bath, so I’ve been spending a lot of time poking around kitchen design sites, including a lot of turnkey providers that handle the whole thing, soup to nuts.

Granted, I’m pretty far from hiring a kitchen remodeling firm in Michigan to tackle any of my rehabs here in Texas, but sites such as theirs can be a great resource no matter where you’re rehabbing, as far as the photo gallery and showroom photos provided.

I struggle a bit with visualizing color choices for countertops and backsplashes, so it’s pretty invaluable to be able to poke around photo galleries of finished jobs, to get an idea of color choices and tile styles that I might use for my own projects. Pick out an idea here, snag a backsplash design over there, and you’re well on your way to coming up with a game plan for your own kitchen remodel.
