Still not done with House #2. Although the end is definitely drawing near, and the biggest hold-up at this stage is getting the electrician back in to finish running the electrical for the new bathroom.

I hit it pretty hard the last five days or so, managing to get all the exterior painting done, all the tile in and grouted, and most of the interior painting done. Still some odds and ends remaining like new outlets, cleaning up the old door hardware, re-hanging doors, etc. And then, at some magical point, it’ll be done. And I’ll sleep, for about a month. After drinking a big bottle of tequila. Myself.

This is too funny. We just sold our second flip and it’s remarkable how your develop the same type of amnesia first time moms have after giving birth. You forget about the excrutiating pain and agony you go through and blissfully jump right back in and have another kid or in this case do another flip. So I am enthusiastically scheming at the next property and all the potential it has forgetting the blown budgets, exhausting days and nights, inhalation of toxic chemicals, lost time with my kids and never ending struggles with hired help and their “personalities” as well as artistic differences with my husband! I laugh and smile, just like that blissful mom and say, here we go again! Good luck. It’s so much fun and rew$rding.

We’re in the same boat. Just two more weeks. Than just two more weeks. Now we just have 2 more weeks and we’ll be done. Amazing isn’t it!

Are you going to post pictures?

We’re in the middle of one, too. When you DIY, you find yourself thinking “I’m going to take a good, long break from REI after this one. Definitely.” But, then, like Linda said above, you totally forget you ever thought that when the next property pops up on your radar.

I’m not sure if it’s more painful to do everything yourself or just waiting months on contractors to do things for you. Both are pretty equally horrible.
