This section features various projects I’ve tackled while renovating homes, laying out the basic issues that you’ll have to face, typical costs involved, degree of difficulty as far as tackling the work yourself, and other related tidbits.

Please note that these aren’t step-by-step instructions at all, and that your mileage will definitely vary. Costs for things such as replacing a roof can vary widely in different parts of the country, so anything here is based on my experience in central Texas, and should be taken with a huge grain of salt.

The purpose of the info below for various home renovation projects is meant to just give you a very broad baseline picture of what to expect when tackling projects, so that you’ll know what to expect when it’s time for you to go down that road yourself, leaving you hopefully more informed when it’s time to get bids from contractors, etc.

Pier and Beam Foundation Repair and Leveling

    Adding Insulation in Attics
